Be a part of making and preserving the history of Marion County, Kansas.

Join us Saturday, August 13th, 1PM, at the Mennonite Heritage & Agricultural Museum* to learn more about the project from lead artists Cyan Meeks and Susan Mayo over refreshments. Be inspired by the stories of the past held within the museum.

You can share on this day or submit your story and artifact at a later date.

Flint Hills Counterpoint is asking all current and previous members of Marion County, Kansas to submit their stories and artifacts to become part of a published Audio Tour Book. We are looking for stories about your memories, local folklore, histories, experiences, knowledge, and incidences that connect to the places, people, land, plants, and animals of Marion County, Kansas.

We encourage you to bring an artifact that is part of your story. This may include an object, a structure, a family heirloom, a historical photograph, an article of clothing, a letter, a dried flower, etc. You may also or submit an image and description of your artifact.

*Meet us in the Prep School (200 Poplar Street, Gossel, KS) to start. We will head to the museum after a short presentation about Flint Hills Counterpoint’s Audio Tour Book project.
